except

except后面的范围比主语的范围小，除去的和非除去的是同类事物。besides指更进一步的拥有，包括所“除”事物在内。

举例：

All the students went to see the film except Tom.

All the students went to see the film besides Tom.

第一句话是说TOM没有去看电影,而第二句是说除了TOM去看了电影其他的所有人也都去了。
